Online Gambling Gift Card Options Dwindling

Many online gambling sites have been using gift cards or what some people refer to as “virtual Visas” for sending and receiving money to affiliates and online gambling players around the world. That option may be coming to an end as many of these gift card providers have been notifying companies that they will not permit their gift card options to be advertised on Internet gambling related websites.

The problem for many gamblers around the world since the United States passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Prohibition (UIGP) Act has been sending and receiving money. The gift cards were a way around this problem. NETeller was the way that nearly all gamblers sent and received money to online gambling sites but NETeller caved in to the United States after the bill was passed and is now a blip on the radar screen for gamblers around the world that want to send and receive money and they are not an option at all for U.S. gamblers.

The gift card option of receiving money was great for many online poker and casino affiliates who were having trouble finding alternative payment methods. If that option is completely eliminated it will further hurt online affiliates and gamblers around the world.

Now that gift card companies have seen the light they are beginning to go the route of places like Party Poker, NETeller, and others who want no part of going against the United States government and will eliminate any risk by not servicing anyone associated with online gambling sites that serve the United States.

This is just another example of companies caving in to the United States pressure put on by the passage of the UIGP bill.
